What is a Virtual Server? ...This is!... Everything you see on the these home pages is residing on a Virtual Server. The home pages, the cgi and Java scripts, Frontpage server extensions, all run on a Virtual Server.

Your virtual server will allow you to establish an Internet presence on multiple high speed DS3 connections at a fraction of the cost. Normally, to establish a presence on the Internet, it would require you to purchase a high speed Internet connection, costly equipment, and possibly a support staff. With the Virtual Server System you get the Internet services you want without the worries and costs of a dedicated Internet connection (and your customers will not be able to tell the difference).

What You Get

The core services of the Virtual Server System- WWW, FTP, Email, and POP- are all completely configurable. For example, your virtual server includes an entire httpd directory tree comprising in part of your own cgi-bin, configuration files (httpd.conf, et al), and log files (access, error, and referer logs). Thus you can customize and configure your virtual server's WWW service to meet your specific needs (and meet them immediately) since you have complete control of your virtual server. Similar flexibility is afforded for the other virtual services.

Most other providers require you to commit to lengthy contracts that may last from 3 months up to 1 year (and make you to pay up front)! As part of your order, you will be expected to read and accept the terms of the Virtual Server contract (which includes common sense stipulations such as no spamming, hacking, etc).

Extensions

The Virtual Server System can be easily extended to support popular technologies such as Microsoft FrontPage, Netscape Compatible Encryption, mSQL, autoresponders, Macromedia Shockwave, and many others. Iserver has also authored a web content manager and file browser, iManager, and a remote site administration utility, iRoot, which allow you to manage and maintain the content of your web site with ease and efficiency.

CGI Library

The SurfTexax's CGI library is meant to offer solutions for the basic scripting needs of our customers. The CGI library includes friendly advice and help setting up CGI scripts such as imagemaps, send comments cgi, guestlists, search engines, and counters (and more). Java applets can be easily installed on the Virtual Server System. A Java applet can really add appeal and zest to your web presentation. There are almost an innumerable amount of Java applets available on the web (you typically wouldn't need to write your own). For example, sites such as Gamelan hold thousands of applets. The Java and Javascript Collection is a sampling of some very functional applets, each includes easy to follow installation instructions.
